HOLIDAY WINE SELECTION #1 Shipping included
Nothing kicks off a holiday celebration better than a sparkling wine and it always pairs well with a variety of foods on the table. In this selection we are including 3 sparkling wines (1 dessert and 2 Bruts). Nebbiolo is our favorite grape and here you will be able to work your way through the meal by starting with the lightest Monferrato, move on to the Barbaresco and finish with a fantastic Barolo! These are all of course coming from small winemaking families that we love and support.
1 Gianni Doglia Moscato "Casa di Bianca" DOCG - This is one of the few Moscatos to make Gambero Rosso's 3 bicchieri award list every single year. Made from one single vineyard, this is one of the highest quality Moscatos you can find. Gianni Doglia was named Winemaker of the Year just a few months ago.
1 Cascina Gentile "Barbabianca" Metodo Classico - This is a fun sparkling wine with a Rosato color coming from the Barbera grape. It is fruity and easy drinking and is unusual to find a traditional method wine with Barbera. This was an experiment at Daniele's wine school that he made many years ago. Cascina Gentile is a small independent and organic winemaker.
1 Matteo Giribaldi Alta Langa DOCG - Usually only big houses can afford to make a traditional method sparkling wine. However, the Garibaldis, in particular, Matteo loved bubbles and convinced his family to let him start experimenting in 2011. Their Alta Langa is a blend of Pinot Noir coming from their backyard and Chardonnay. It is ages on the lees for approx. 36 months before release! They carry out the remuage by hand in classic wooden pupitres.
1 bt. Delinquent - Monferrato Nebbiolo Superiore 2019 Is a member favorite of our club. Monferrato Nebbiolo is the first wine made by Amanda and her husband Gianni. This is their second vintage coming from their grandparents’ old vineyard. Only a few thousand bottles produced. A fruity delicious drinkable Nebbiolo.
1 Quazzolo Barbaresco 2016 DOCG - Danilo Quazzolo is one of the smallest wineries in Barbaresco. His classic Barbaresco is actually a single cru vineyard coming from Othello. He uses traditional methods and likes to decorate his tanks with his own artwork and give the lot number names fun identities, usually hard rock bands.
1 Renato Corino Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata 2016 DOCG - This could be one of Renato's best Barolos yet. What I love about this winery is that Renato himself is ALWAYS in the vineyard or on a tractor. He is a true vintner. This is a small production coming from the "gran cru" of La Morra vineyards, Rocche d'Annunziata from one of the greatest vintages in the last decades!
